I really dislike writing “about me” pages. But I love reading them. 🤷♀️
My name is Veronica, and I live in a little house in Minneapolis with my wife and daughter, as well as an old cat and a young dog. I’m a freelance system administrator and developer, mostly working in legacy codebases (i.e. COBOL). That’s a weird story which I might get to another time. My wife and I work together on most development/design projects- she’s got the art background and I’m the nerdy coder. I think it works pretty well!
Before I was in tech, I was a professional musician- most of my income came from teaching guitar/bass/vocals. Best job I ever had.
Anywho, I’ve always loved technology YouTube – I’m a visual learner and seeing examples is helpful. In 2021, I decided to dive into making my own videos, and throwing a different sort of voice into the cacophony with Veronica Explains. After years of working “behind the scenes” in tech, it’s very nice to get out in front of the camera and “onstage” (again).
The YouTube work is fun and addictive, and I’ve recently resolved to making more videos this year (2022 for future me). So, to that end, I’ve started this website! Sort of a combination “blog slash channel merch” site.
My goal is simple: earn more money making content… that way I can spend less time not making content. If you’re still reading this, hopefully you can get onboard with that. 🙂
If you want to support the channel (or the blog), you can go buy a shirt! If you really want to support the content, you can always sign up on Patreon.
Anyway, that’s about it for my “About Me” page. I try to live by a personal motto: bragging is for people without reputations. That’s easier said than done when talking about yourself, so I’ll just say “go check out my channel” to learn more.
